One post before I depart - sort of a side-tangent if you will.

In preparation for the New Year, I thought I would share with you/plug an internet sitcom that definitely cracked me up. I apologize in advance if it’s not your cup of tea (or coffee).

Also ***the contents of the show aren’t entirely “family-friendly”*** for those of you sharing my blog with your youngins. There’s swearing and a bit of adulty subject matter.

In going on this cruise/work adventure, I’ve been reminded of the fact that I used to sing the theme song of “The Love Boat” ad nauseam when I was really little. Personally, I hope that my time on board more closely resembles “Breaker High.”

Recently, I came across yet another cruise life/work-themed sitcom. This one, however, never made it to air.

As a huge fan of “Arrested Development,” and recently “Superbad,” I personally find Michael Cera pretty hilarious. This year he and his friend Clark Duke developed a mockumentary about their quest to pitch their script to the major networks.

According to their site, the script was for “The Family Cruise”

The plot of the show is simple: Michael and I are two twin brothers who were raised by our single mother, Shirley Cruise. After her untimely death, we were forced to go live with our father, Tony Cruise, a Cruise Ship captain. We go from port to port every week, getting into trouble, finding love, and finding ourselves on the high seas.

Of course, “The Family Cruise” is not real, but much hilarity is found in their enactment of daily life trying to pitch the script.

So hilarious, in fact, that CBS.com funded ten episodes as an online sitcom.

Very loosely cruise-related (and arguably irrelevant as material for my blog), I invite you to visit: www.clarkandmichael.com

Have a wonderful New Year - filled with laughter, fun and great memories. All the best in 2008.

Next post will be from somewhere without snow ;)
